Description

Are you writing (or finishing) a book, and thinking about next steps? Wondering if self-publishing or traditional publishing will be the best fit for what you write, and how to begin the process of pursuing either one?

Join author, coach and speaker Manda Pullen Turetsky (who writes fiction as M.J. Pullen) for a current, relevant exploration of today's publishing industry and the options available to today's authors. Participants in this workshop will learn:

  1. The overall state of today's publishing industry, how it has changed in the past decade, as well as current trends.
  2. How to separate fact from fiction (and emotions from data) to decide which publishing path is right for you and your book.
  3. The pros and cons of all the main publishing avenues, including Big 5 (New York) publishers, small press, partnership publishing, and self-publishing.
  4. How genre can impact your publishing decision, strategy and success.
  5. What it takes to succeed commercially as an author in today's market, no matter how you publish.
  6. Where to start if you are considering self-publishing as a potential avenue, including resources, next steps, and questions to ask as you go along.

This workshop is relevant to authors of both fiction and non-fiction, at any stage of their writing careers. The workshop includes a free, half-hour coaching session via phone or video, within 6 months of the workshop date. All handouts and materials are included.

FAQs

I'm a first-time author. Is this workshop appropriate for me?

Yes. This workshop is open to both published and unpublished authors, at all stages of their careers.

I have already self-published my novel or book. Should I attend this workshop?

This workshop is unlikely to be of substantial benefit to someone who has already self-published a book; however, depending on your depth of research and knowledge, there may be some aspects that are new to you. For previously self-published authors who need additional support, I recommend registering for the Book Marketing Workshop or contacting me at manda@successnarratives.com for individual coaching options.

Are refreshments provided? Is food allowed?

Coffee, tea, water and snacks will be available. You are welcome to bring your own favorite snack or beverage as well.

How do I redeem my free half-hour coaching session?

Simply email manda@successnarratives.com and we'll schedule a mutually agreeable time for a phone or video chat. Coaching session must be redeemed within 6 months of the workshop date.

What's the refund policy?

If you are unable to attend the event, you can request a refund up to seven (7) days before the event. Due to space limitations at the worskhop venue, refunds requested after this date cannot be accommodated. Please reach out to me at manda@successnarratives.com with any questions.
